Juneau and Anchorage, Alaska

If you’re looking for the quintessential winter experience, head to Alaska for your next travel nurse assignment! At more than 3,200 square miles, the state capital Juneau is the second-largest city in the country by area. A population of approximately 32,000 makes it the third most populated city in the state behind Anchorage and Fairbanks. For those that want to see natural wonders of the world, this is the perfect place. Tracy Arm Fjord, Mendenhall Glacier, and Glacier Gardens Rainforest are among the attractions to explore along with traditional winter sports.

Head north to Anchorage, the largest city in Alaska with approximately 300,000 residents, and explore Chugach State Park and Denali National Park. Enjoy hiking, winter sports, and indoor activities. Tony Knowles Coastal Trail is a paved walking and biking trail perfectly suited for those with families and/or those who don’t want to brave mountain hiking. Anchorage Museum and Alaska Center for the Performing Arts offer indoor exhibits and programs throughout the year.

Consider Alaska for the natural wonders and winter experience!
